There's a great feature built right in to your BB Calendar application. Its called "Invite Attendee" and it can be extremely useful. You can choose which email account to send from and you can send the invite to as many recipients as you like. I used this feature all the time when I was running my own renovation business to coordinate estimates and jobs with my colleague.
Its very simple to use. Simply enter the details of the event, hit menu and select Invite Attendee. Then select a contact. Repeat to add more recipients.
An email will be sent to the recipient(s). If they have a BB, the appointment will automatically be added to their calendar. The recipient(s) can choose from several different options:
- Accept
- Accept with Comments
- Tentative
- Tentative with Comments
- Decline
- Decline with Comments
Ok....so I have a blackberry curve (sprint)and my daughter has a blackberry pearl (verizon). I can't get this function to work. One of the reasons I wanted this phone was so we could send appointments to each other to save time. It appears to send the invite, but it never shows up on her phone for her to accept. Any ideas?

ReplyDeleteDoes the appointment ever show up in your daughter's calendar? It should show up in her calendar even if she hasn't accepted it yet. And after you send an appointment, it should have diagonal lines through it in the week view (menu--> view week).
I have used this feature with many different email accounts including hotmail, gmail, and my blackberry email account with no problems.
If you can't get it to work, I would suggest making some free gmail accounts and using them for calendar invites to each other.
I hope you can get this working as it is a great feature.

Hi there...I wanted to thank you for trying to help me out with the invite attendee issue. After visiting my service provider and hers, it appeared she needed a new service pack sent to her phone. Everything is working now. :) Actually I found your blog when I was goggling "blackberry invite attendee" :) Thanks again!
